Prayer of the Righteous

Scripture: James 5:16 KJV
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Let us look at what righteousness means. Righteousness is being in right standing with God. That simply means you believe in the WORD of God and you do according to what the WORD of God says.

You are not righteous by works that you should boast. Read: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT. Amen & Amen.

So, in a nutshell, we understand that we are not righteous because of how talented or gifted we are or just doing good. It doesn’t work that way, it’s Christ Jesus coming into our heart and operating through us and living inside of us, having a relationship with him makes an individual becomes righteous. Praise-Break: Hallelujah! Glory be to God!

Read: My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So, I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 NLT. Hallelujah!!!!

Hopefully, we get the picture that righteousness is not by self-effort. It’s according to Christ operating through the believer. Amen.

The reason why I spend time on discussing righteousness because the next verse I am going to share with you is going to shock you. Ha-ha. I mean this is serious but if you don’t know you just don’t know. It took time before I started living a crucified life. This means I had to put my earthly passions under my feet and let God’s will become the first place in my life. Which is done by the Holy Ghost. I can go on and on with this but let me share the verse.

We are now in a pandemic and lots of prayers are necessary for God to shift this disease off the land. Here is the question we should really take the time out to think before we answer…...does God hear a sinner's Prayer? The short answer is “NO”, but if he/she repents we know our God is merciful and just. Amen.

Read: Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. John 9:31 Amen & Amen.

God is not looking for self-righteous people but one who has a penitent heart. Our theme scripture starts off by saying: Confess your faults one to another. The BIG word right hear is CONFESS. That’s it! Be sorry for our sins and God will forgive you.

Read Luke 18:1-14 NLT to get the full picture. But I want to bring verse 13 to your attention: But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.

I want to encourage the body of Christ, to live lives that please God. Build a relationship with the Holy Spirit so that you don’t do anything without his approval. So, even when this virus passes over and things seem calm please don’t forget it’s God who granted you another opportunity to make it right with him and not only that but to share the “good news”, that is telling someone else what Jesus has done for us.

Here is another verse I want to highlight before I close, well 2 more verses:

#1: If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. Psalms 66:18 KJV
#2: Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2 KJV

In closing, God is looking for authentic prayers and worshippers. Only and I say this with great emphasis, ONLY, The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man/woman availeth much.

Jesus wanted you to stop by this site to get this word into your heart so you can be encouraged to live a life of victory. Amen.

Love you. Be blessed!
